Here’s what we discussed:

For years, enterprises have run mission-critical data systems with outdated tools that weren’t designed to manage the current exploding supply of data. The problem is only getting worse as massive data volumes, data pipeline complexity, new technologies and hybrid environments conspire to challenge the business value of data systems.

This affects everyone in an organization – data teams struggle with operational issues and often fail to meet the increasing demand for real-time data insights, data consumers don’t trust the data they need to make key business decisions, and executives can’t ensure data delivery and pipeline performance meet business requirements.

In this session we focused on how, when and where enterprises can apply data observability to:

  • Successfully architect, operate, and optimize complex data systems at scale
  • Gain full visibility into data processing, data quality, and data pipelines
  • Use ML to scale data identification, quality and management
  • Manage costs during digital transformation to cloud services
  • Improve data reliability while reducing operational risk and cost management

GM MEA/SEA at Acceldata

Here is what we learned:

Chand Deshwal, Vice President – Cloud, AI and Data, Avanade

Avanade is totally focused on the Microsoft ecosystem. One of his interest areas is observability, particularly in a multi-cloud environment.

Deshwal has seen the role of the CDO transform for the better with more responsibility for driving transformation across the organization as opposed to simply overseeing internal data governance.

Bhagyesh Chaubey, CDO | Data Governance | Data Stewardship, Citi

Chaubey is responsible for data governance and stewardship in the private wealth management division of the bank across 17 markets in Asia.

Data observability is a topic very close to his heart and the space is evolving very rapidly.

Chaubey asked about the value proposition of Acceldata and whether data was transferred or would be extracted through APIS. He also wanted to know when the return would be evident and what was the window of time to get the tools up and running.
