Here’s what we discussed:

The convergence of IT and OT in manufacturing is largely driven by advancements in industrial IoT and the data that powers it. However, a significant challenge persists due to the data silos created by individual components, each with its own data layer.

To address this, a movement called unified namespace is gaining traction in industrial IoT. This approach aims to break down these silos, unifying data into a single layer that provides a single source of truth across all applications within the ecosystem.

This roundtable discussion focused on the implications of this shift toward a single source of truth for both application architects in IT and operations center leaders in OT.

Volt Active Data shared insights gained from the migration from 4G to 5G in the telecom industry, where siloed data was successfully unified into a single data management layer. We heard participants’ thoughts on how this expertise could support your journey within the industrial IoT space.
