Here’s what we discussed:

Amazon has raised the table stakes for all retailers as customers expect their products in their hands within a day or two even if they aren’t shopping in the store.

As the retail store emerges as a key fulfillment node for many retailers, retailers have to create highly curated assortments that meet localized demand to convert a store sale or reach the customer within days. Omnichannel retailers must optimize inventory by placing it in the right places in their network, at the right time.

In this session, we discussed how retailers are meeting the challenges of new channels and new fulfilment options while keeping costs under control.

We also discussed how retailers are leveraging AI & ML in the real world for things like allocating inventory, optimizing markdowns, and orchestrating orders to capture sales and margin, contain fulfillment costs, reduce split ships and improve the ratio of sales to returns.
