What we discussed:

Is your data truly secure in the public cloud? And how do you stay compliant with the ever-evolving data privacy regulations in Europe? Public Cloud providers like AWS state that security and compliance is a shared responsibility between the cloud services provider and you as a customer. This AWS Shared Responsibility Model is a framework that clarifies what AWS is accountable for and, crucially, where your responsibilities as a customer lie.

You, as a customer, bear the weight of compliance with regulations and the governance of your applications and data. To help organizations to be compliant, AWS recently launched in the Netherlands a Landing Zone that complies with the Baseline Informatiebeveiliging Overheid (BIO), an information security framework to support Dutch Public Sector organizations. It is T-Systems experience that is secure and compliant with new regulations is also a continuous challenge for non-governmental organizations.

Is your cloud team capable of effectively orchestrating and managing this within your organization? Do you have the knowledge and expertise to manage and handle this by yourselves? This invitation-only executive roundtable dinner was an opportunity to learn from AWS experts at T-Systems and like-minded industry leaders. We learnt from our peers how they are managing this shared responsibility, and what hurdles they have encountered along the way.
