WHAT WE DISCUSSED

Primary Health Care Corporation, Qatar (PHCC) is leading a prevention first, person centred transformation aligned to the National Health Strategy 2024–2030. This roundtable convened PHCC’s senior leaders to explore how evidence based, AI supported decision support can standardize care, elevate patient experience, and strengthen workforce efficiency across health centres.

Why now: When PHCC teams previously used UpToDate at scale, they achieved meaningful clinical impact ~2,500 active users, deep EMR workflow usage, and tens of thousands of reinforced or changed clinical decisions—a level of engagement that correlates with safer, more consistent care. We shared what’s possible today with AI supported pathways and medication safety intelligence, and how it operationalizes PHCC’s strategy for 2030.

What we discussed (C-Suite outcomes):

    • Reducing diagnostic variation with embedded, evidence based guidance—at the point of care.
    • Medication safety as a system lever (formulary alignment, stewardship, fewer adverse events).
    • AI-supported workflows that augment clinical judgment, not replace it—aligned to PHCC’s digital ambitions.
    • Population health & prevention priorities (diabetes, obesity, mental health) with measurable quality improvements

What participants expected:

    • Executive level dialogue on scaling standardization across PHCC’s network.
    • A concise view of impact data from PHCC’s prior usage (e.g., pathway adoption, decisions reinforced/changed, CMEs) and the latest AI supported capabilities.
    • A practical roadmap for re-establishing value—covering access, enablement, measurement, and governance.

We looked forward to collaborating on a PHCC specific blueprint that advances patient safety, experience, and operational efficiency, fully aligned with your 2024–2030 strategic objectives.
