ABOUT THIS EVENT

Organisations across Australia are investing more than ever in technology. New platforms, smarter tools, and more sophisticated systems are being deployed at pace — yet for many, the returns remain frustratingly out of reach.

The data tells a confronting story. McKinsey puts the success rate of digital transformations at less than 30%. Boston Consulting Group found that only 30% of initiatives meet or exceed their target value. And the problem isn’t getting better — S&P Global found that 42% of companies abandoned most of their AI initiatives in 2025, up from just 17% the year before.

So why, despite record levels of technology investment, do so many deployments fall short?

The problem has never been the technology. It’s an adoption crisis. Organisations consistently treat transformation as a technology project instead of an adoption challenge — and the result is costly shelfware: sophisticated platforms deployed but never truly embedded, delivering a fraction of their potential value.

Two planning failures stand out above the rest. First, mapping new technology directly onto old, outdated processes — assuming the platform will fix what the workflow couldn’t. It won’t. Second, treating training as a one-time event rather than an ongoing programme of coaching, monitoring and reinforcement. Without it, old habits return, workarounds multiply, and the gap between what the system can do and what it actually delivers quietly widens.

The organisations that get this right don’t have better technology. They have better adoption strategies — and better outcomes.

We’ll explore:

  • Why technology investments underdeliver – and what the data tells us about where value is really lost

  • The danger of mapping new technology to old processes – and how to get process-readiness right before deployment

  • The five planning failures that derail even well-funded deployments

  • Why go-live is the beginning, not the end – building ongoing coaching and monitoring into your adoption strategy

  • What the top 30% of organisations do differently when it comes to adoption strategy and change leadership

  • Practical frameworks for closing the gap between go-live and genuine business imp
