ABOUT THIS EVENT

Nearly half of today’s web traffic is generated by bots and automated agents, and Fastly’s latest Threat Insights show that most of this activity is unverified or unwanted. AI crawlers, fetchers, and headless bots are reshaping how content is accessed and how applications and APIs are exposed, turning bot strategy from a narrow security concern into a board‑level business issue.

In India’s high‑growth digital economy, this shift is especially relevant for organisations across BFSI, commerce, media, and SaaS that depend on secure, high‑performing web and API channels. The challenge is no longer just handling scale, but deciding, in real time, which automated traffic should be allowed, throttled, deceived, or blocked, and on what business logic.

During this session, we will use Fastly’s Threat Insights as a starting point to explore how security and technology leaders are classifying and controlling AI crawlers and fetchers, balancing security, performance, and infrastructure cost at the edge, and rethinking access, identity, and control in an increasingly agentic web. This will be a candid, peer‑led conversation focused on aligning security, traffic management, and AI strategy with measurable business outcomes.

Smita Satyavada draws on nearly two decades of experience in Cloud, CDN, and edge computing to shape market strategy, build partner ecosystems, and unlock new revenue streams for Fastly in India. She is passionate about helping digital enterprises deliver secure, high‑performance experiences at scale across India and other emerging markets. Previously, Smita led enterprise , startup and mid‑market growth at AWS and Akamai, driving business across OTT, e‑commerce, and BFSI, and building repeatable new‑logo and partner‑led motions. With a background spanning direct sales, solutions consulting, and GTM strategy, she is known for translating complex technology into clear business value narratives for CXOs while coaching teams to exceed quota and deepen strategic alliances.

Tharun partners with India’s technology executives, including CTOs, CISOs, and VPs of Engineering, to secure and optimize enterprise infrastructure against the automated wave of bots and AI agents. As unverified traffic redefines origin costs and API exposure, he helps engineering leaders implement real-time traffic policies to allow, throttle, or block autonomous agents without degrading user performance. His expertise is built on a hands-on infrastructure engineering career at platform benchmarks like Akamai, Cloudflare, and F5. Throughout his tenure in network security, Tharun has specialized in large-scale DDoS mitigation, advanced Web Application Firewalls (WAF), and API defense. At Fastly, Tharun serves as a strategic advisor to DevOps and cloud teams across India’s highest-growth digital verticals, including BFSI, commerce, media, and SaaS. He focuses on moving complex traffic management logic to the edge, helping organizations navigate the agentic future of the web safely and efficiently.
