ABOUT THIS EVENT

You have spent years getting data sovereignty right: jurisdiction, residency, contractual control over where information rests. That work holds. It no longer covers the part of your estate that is growing fastest.

You can hold every byte inside the EU and still have almost no control over your AI:

  • The weights belong to someone else.

  • The version shifts beneath a system that passed its evaluations last quarter.

  • Core processes run through black-box models you cannot inspect, reproduce, or easily leave.

  • Pricing and access remain entirely at the discretion of a third party.

Data sovereignty asks where your information sits. AI sovereignty asks the harder question: when the model changes, the commercial terms shift, or a regulator asks why, can you still explain what your systems did, keep them running, and change your mind?

Thoughtworks Chief Data & AI Officer Shayan Mohanty shared practical insights and demonstrate how Thoughtworks’ Agent/works platform operationalizes AI sovereignty. The participants saw how policy-based routing, strict data boundary enforcement, and end-to-end decision auditability keep autonomous workflows compliant, secure, and under control.

This executive lunch with senior technology and data leaders addressed what sovereignty requires once AI runs inside processes with real consequences, and how to make it a strategic leverage point rather than a compliance tax.

WHY ATTEND

Common Sense Events uses a conversational, story-telling approach designed for peer learning. Every participant’s voice shapes the discussion – no recording, no slides, no pitch decks.

This was an executive peer group discussion for 10 – 12 senior technology and data leaders. Participation in this in-person networking session was at no cost for qualified attendees. The participants were brought together to compare positions with people who had made the same decisions, and they left with a sharper view of where their own exposure was.
