Common Sense Virtual Roundtable:

The Elephant in the Room: Stopping eCommerce Fraud Doesn’t Cut It In 2021

Here’s what we discussed:

COVID force-accelerated digital transformation by years, and eCommerce companies made massive innovations in 2020 to keep up with the surging transaction volumes. Previously, identity verifications controls that simply stopped fraud were enough to meet customer demands; now, eCommerce companies are expected to also provide a low-friction customer transaction experience as well. Balancing these two things in the face of rising fraud attacks? It’s quite the challenge.

In this roundtable, we provided answers for the following questions:

  • What approaches are companies taking to reliably weed out fraud without insulting good customers?
  • What are the strategic and financial implications of too-strict fraud prevention measures?

This roundtable discussion was moderated by Jordan Reynolds, VP of Market Strategy, eComm and Marketplaces, at Ekata.
